International Pool Lifeguard Course: Diving into Lifesaving Skills
Embark on a path to professional lifeguarding with this internationally recognized Pool Lifeguard Course. This comprehensive training, including eLearning, academic sessions, and in-water training, equips you to supervise, assist, and rescue in confined water environments like swimming pools and waterparks.
Our pool lifeguard course is available for onsite training to companies and organizations in Bangkok and across Thailand, conducted by our certified Lifeguard instructors. Additionally, we offer individual training sessions at our swimming pool and academy located in Bangkok.
How Is This Pool Lifeguard Course Conducted?
This pool lifeguard course is delivered in a blended learning format under the guidance of our certified Lifeguard instructor(s). Students progress independently through the eLearning course chapters while receiving guidance and hands-on lifeguard skills practice from our instructor during class.
- Access to eLearning: Upon booking, all students will receive login credentials for the SSI® online training platform.
- Independent eLearning: Students independently progress through the eLearning course chapters. It's essential to complete these chapters before the conclusion of the face-to-face training.
- Academic and Skills Session: During the face-to-face training, all students participate in academic sessions and hands-on skills training guided by our instructor.
- Swimming Tests*: Students must successfully pass swimming tests, including:
- Swimming 400 meters in under 9 minutes
- 50-meter rescue swim with their head outside the water in less than 60 seconds
- Treading water for 15 minutes
- 25-meter apnea swim
- Deep dive circuit (3 to 5 meters)
- Tow and carry (10 meters)
- Skill Tests: Students must successfully pass skill tests organized across two different scenarios.
- Certification:
- If the candidate meets all the requirements, they will be awarded an International Pool Lifeguard certification.
- If a candidate does not meet all the requirements, they will not be awarded the International Pool Lifeguard certification. They will receive the Water-Safety Attendant certification instead.
* We highly recommend candidates undergo training and prepare for the swimming tests in advance of the face-to-face training session. Failure to take this course often results from inadequate water fitness.
What Are the Specifics of this Pool Lifeguard Training Program?
- Course format: face-to-face training accompanied by independent learning.
- Course duration: 24 hours of in-person split over 3 days
- Prerequisites:
- 16 years old.
- Prior to enrolling in this international Pool Lifeguard course, students must hold an international First Aid CPR AED and oxygen provider certificate.
- Language: English or Thai*
- Minimum of participants: 2 participants per class
- Maximum of participants: 12 participants per class
- Face-to-face training location: Your venue in Bangkok or everywhere in Thailand. Or our swimming pool and academy in Bangkok.
- Certification: International Pool Lifeguard certificate (valid for 2 years)
* While the online training content for the Pool Lifeguard course is exclusively offered in English, rest assured that we can provide the face-to-face training in the Thai language for your convenience.
